The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is seeking a Financial Aid Director. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE),12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Associate Provost.

The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for the University’s student financial aid programs. In coordination with appropriate campus units, the Director provides leadership in student aid advising and outreach, determining student aid eligibility, setting policies and procedures for awarding funds, and maintaining fiduciary responsibilities for student aid programs. The Director must have the vision to create the strategic utilization of financial aid funds for the recruitment and retention of students. The Director is a key advocate for student aid on campus, with state and federal representatives. As a key contributor to the university’s enrollment management efforts, the Director insures a strong customer focus of these efforts and assists in achieving the university’s enrollment goals.

Serves as the primary contact for student athlete appeals, in coordination with the athletic compliance officer.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):

Typically requires Master’s degree in Business Administration, College Student Services Administration or related field with 6-8 years experience in management responsibilities.

Requirements :

Master’s in Business Administration, College Student Services Administration, or closely related field.

Knowledge of integrated university computing system.

Thorough knowledge of Federal, State, and Institutional financial aid regulations, procedures, and policies.

Evidence of a customer service orientation.

Supervisory experience.

Demonstrated analytical skills.

Demonstrated presentation skills.

A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU STANDARD 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Criminal History Check Requirement.

Salary (Minimum): $97,476

Salary (Maximum): $170,520

Additional Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
