Minimum/Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in humanities, arts, environmental science, or a closely related field. A demonstrated understanding and appreciation of the Spring Creek Project mission. Passionate engagement with environmental science, literature, arts, and humanities. At least one year experience in a similar position. Experience with creative and critical thinking. Experience setting priorities, developing work plans, monitoring progress, and tracking details. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Experience working independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. Position Duties 40% Event Planning: Work with the program manager to develop, design and plan 20-25 events per year that support Spring Creek's mission. Event planning starts with big-picture thinking about what kinds of events, speakers, and partnerships will help further our mission and engage audiences. Our events change annually and include readings, lectures, gatherings, celebrations, workshops, and symposia. Event planning also includes detailed tasks such as schedule meetings, develop and oversee financial plans and event budgets, develop facility use schedules including multiple event logistics, reserve facilities and lodging, staffing, contracts and sponsor agreements, submit and track reimbursements, assist with marketing, develope and assemble event materials, plan catering, organize audio-visual and other technology, make travel arrangements for visiting speakers, and host speakers while they are in town. 30% Residency Coordination: Coordinate residency programs including Long-Term Ecological Reflections at the HJ Andrews Experimental Forest and Collaborative Residencies at the Cabin at Shotpouch Creek. 15% Campus and Community Outreach: Promote events and residencies at Oregon State University, in Corvallis and throughout the Pacific Northwest through various outreach methods including weekly emails to our listserv, social media, and print media. Build and maintain relationships with colleague and organizations. Maintain the Spring Creek Project website and write stories for the website. 10% Internship Coordination: Work with interns to help fulfill the Spring Creek Project mission. 5% Special Projects: Collaborate on emergent projects that further the Spring Creek Project mission.
