Minimum/Required Qualifications ' Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, counseling, or related field. ' 2-3 years of experience working with students experiencing academic challenges for any reason, including but not limited to, a lack of academic preparation, skills, or motivation, or a diagnosed learning disability, Attention Deficit Disorder, etc. ' Experience teaching learning strategies and developing academic intervention strategies at a university level to enhance learning for academically under-prepared students and students with education-impacting disabilities. ' Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse educational, cultural, and economic backgrounds. ' Strong commitment to academic and personal integrity. ' Excellent written and oral communication, computer, and organizational skills. ' A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. Position Duties 85% ' Develop and deliver comprehensive academic support services, including individualized academic plans to specific at-risk student athletes and those student athletes with education-impacting disabilities. ' Work collaboratively with ASA staff and student services departments (e.g. Disability Access Services and CAPS), faculty, and other campus personnel to utilize available resources and services. ' Provide consistent and frequent feedback to Academic Counselors and Coaches concerning the progress of identified student athletes. ' Monitor and track student athlete progress in all classes. ' Develop and disseminate academic status progress reports. 10% ' Work with other academic support staff to implement educational initiatives, trainings and workshops for student athletes and staff including tutor, study facilitation, mentoring training as well as BEST summer bridge program training. ' Serve as a resource to the tutoring and counseling staff on relevant learning strategy issues. ' Participate in ongoing evaluation of the academic support programs for student athletes. 5% ' Attend all ASA related meetings, events, workshops, orientations and trainings. ' Stay abreast of and assures adherence to NCAA, Pac-12, and University rules and regulations as it relates to position. ' Ensure all assigned tasks are in compliance with NCAA, Pac-12, and University rules. ' May be required to work outside normal business hours (evenings, weekends).
