The primary purpose of this position is to maintain pneumatic, electronic, mechanical and electrical control and distribution systems in Athletic Department facilities. The person in this position will also assist in the planning, design and installation of such systems when appropriate or necessary. Position responsibilities include knowledge/skills/abilities in electrical maintenance, diagnoses and repair, troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment, inventory control and record keeping. This person will also assist staff and event support for activities occurring in Athletic Department facilities.
• This position will require a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain UO Driver's Certification
• Must be aware of Hazardous Communication Program and asbestos handling procedures
• Must have knowledge of voltage systems, both AC & DC
• Must remain current with new electrical technologies, methods and applications
• Must become certified for confined space within three months of employment
Position will work indoors and outdoors in weather that may be inclement; requires ability to walk extensively, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, crawl and lift up to 70 pounds, work in confined spaces, operate and respond to 2-way radio communications.
Two years of journey-level experience planning, designing, installing, and maintaining building pneumatic electronic, and electrical control and distribution systems and possession of one of the following Oregon Electrician's Licenses appropriate to the work to be performed:
• General Supervising Electrician License
• General Journeyman Electrician License
• Must be able to communicate with peers, supervisors, and outside contractors and businesses in a positive and effective manner for smooth and efficient operation
• Knowledge of DDC controls
