As Manager of the Safety, Risk, and Compliance for Nike WHQ Meetings & Events you will be responsible for mitigating risk and exposure for events by developing planning processes and establishing production standards and guidelines for meetings and events held at WHQ.
Evaluate practices,procedures and facilities to identify and address safety risks, requirements,and concerns unique to Nike’s WHQ M&E business. Recommend solutions toissues, improvement opportunities or new preventative measures.
Collaborate with relevantNike departments and WHQ M&E leadership to create, document, and implement safety guidelines and protocols forevents to minimize risk.
Partner with departmentleaders and ESP’s and provide oversight to ensure ongoing compliance.
Work with Nikedepartments and ESP leadership to advise on, develop, and support theimplementation of required workplace and equipment safety training programs forvarious departments on M&E team.
Ensure facilities andtemporary event structures comply with all permitting, fire and safety codesand requirements. Act as primary NikeWHQ M&E contact for Tualatin ValleyFire & Rescue Fire Marshal and as WHQ M&E contact for obtainingWashington County temporary building permits when needed.
Review drawings forbuildouts and structural drawings. Partner with Nike Events teams and ESP’s toensure capacity, ingress, egress, staging and lighting comply with all codesand requirements.
Partner as requested with WHQ M&E and other Nike teams to be preparedfor natural disaster and/or crises response.
Represent WHQM&Emanagement as member of WHQ Safety Committee for awareness of broader,overarching safety considerations at Nike.
Minimum 6 years’experience managing complex, critical workplace safety programs and ensuringfull compliance preferred.
Minimum 6 years ofdiverse event experience with comprehensive knowledge of dynamics andlogistical elements of conference center and M&E operations preferred.
Demonstrated ability todevelop auditing tools and processes.
Proven track record ofdeveloping and successfully implementing effective training programs andpositively influence workplace culture.
Highly detail mindedwith strong problem solving skills and ability to effectively prioritizemultiple tasks and projects.
Superior written andverbal communication skills with the ability to present effectively.
Ability to establishrelationships and partnerships with diverse internal teams, external vendorsand local regulatory agencies.
Proficient in use of MSOffice (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience using meeting management software(EBMS) is preferred.
Ability to travel to /from event locations including those outside of WHQ, as needed.
