As our Event Services Manager, you will lead the team who brings our client’s events to life through innovative designs and vendor partnerships to ensure seamless execution of all meetings and events held at Nike’s World Headquarter Campus (WHQ), including the Tiger Woods Center, Hayward Conference Center, other WHQ buildings and exterior spaces, and occasionally at local offsite venues.
You will be the primary contact for event inquiries whose initial needs may appear to exceed standard services and/or may require higher levels of review and approval prior to assignment to an event planner. You will coordinate with the Scheduling and Client Accounts team in assigning all planned meetings and events, and help ensure event execution is in accordance with WHQ policies. Such assignments may be to Sr. Event Planners or to external event services partners, including ESP event planners, Conference Services Coordinators, and/or third-party agencies, as appropriate.
You will collaborate with other WHQ Meetings & Events (WHQME) teams in developing and maintaining event planning and operational guidelines, ensure the staff is fully trained to support and adhere to them, and recommend process changes as necessary. You will determine and/or review appropriate staffing levels to ensure optimal coverage for specific events and/or conference centers.
You will mentor, develop, and lead the events team, and be a resource for problem solving to all departments. You will actively communicate policies and procedures to all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring desired levels of quality and service are met or exceeded, while protecting the Nike Brand.
You will be the primary contact for WHQME external event services partners including but not limited to reviewing and approving schedules, processing payments, and resolving operational and/or staff issues. You will manage operational deliverables for the events team, including budget management and forecast reporting.
Bachelor'sdegree in events/hospitality or in related field is preferred.
Atleast 6 years' event management experience in a hotel, conference orconvention center is preferred.
Excellentinterpersonal and customer service skills.
Extensiveexperience planning and catering special events and food/beveragefunctions.
Strong organization, networking, andcommunication skills.
Ableto clearly and concisely communicate and develop relationships withclients, vendors, and contractors.
Strong priority- and time-managementskills.
Ability to lead a diverse team ofindividuals
Ability to work aflexible schedule driven by event business needs, which may includeextended hours, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
Advanced skills in meeting managementsoftware (EBMS - Event Business Management System) preferred but notrequired.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Officeproducts including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to travelto/from event locations/venues including those outside of WHQ, as needed.
Abilityto lift and transport 20-30 lbs of weight with our without reasonable accomodation
