Typical Hours Required: Varies 6:30 PM- 6 AM (Dependent Upon Shift Rotation)
Pay Rate: $12.50 per hour
General Description of Work
Responsible for ministering to the guests and male residents during the evening, providing assistance in basic operations, and maintaining a safe environment of the facility, both for those in residence and those receiving emergency services, including overnight shelter.
Conduct incremental rounds for fire and security purposes (walk through entire building, including men's overnight shelter and restrooms).
Answer phone to take messages, answer questions and make appropriate referrals.
Receive incoming donations and complete donation receipts.
Attend to guests coming to the front door after hours (hand out blankets or assist when and where appropriate).
Maintain a safe and healing environment for the residents, guests and staff through the current practices of ministry as defined in the Outreach Best Practice Manual.
Perform basic, operationally needed, tasks like laundry rotation during the overnight hours, as well as maintaining the restrooms and lobby environment
interact with male guests sleeping in our Guest Care Center and dormitory as required.
Monitor security cameras.
Be available for relational ministry—especially with men in our long-term programs.
Participate in Portland Rescue Mission special events including holiday celebrations, outings, meetings, retreats, and banquets, including weekly staff meetings and trainings as able outside of shift coverage.
Demonstrate flexibility in working together as a team member for the common goals of PRM including performance of tasks outside the parameters of this job description.
