Functions/Duties of Position

The purpose of this job/position with Rehabilitation Services is to function as a member of the patient care team by providing physical therapy services such as exercise, gait training, patient/family education, hydrotherapy, wound care and various other physical modalities to assist patients in improving strength, endurance, mobility, and flexibility and to decrease pain. Therapists evaluate each patient referred, establish treatment goals and objectives, and to develop and implement the physical therapy treatment plan. Therapists are expected to supervise therapy interns and to assist with other educational and research activities conducted by the department or the hospital.

Job Requirements


  • BS, BA or MS or DPT in Physical Therapy
  • Current State of Oregon Physical Therapy License
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs., to repeatedly carry equipment weighing more than 5 lbs. and to walk extensively on hard and soft surfaces
  • Frequent bending and reaching to navigate medical equipment or perform treatment is required
  • Motor ability to successfully assist patients in transfers, gait
  • Must have knowledge of inpatient medical environments and equipment such as oxygen/ventilation/respiratory apparatuses or CPM machines
  • Requires ability to respond quickly and appropriately to urgent medical situations that may arise with high risk or unusual patient populations
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation


  • Acute Hospital, SNF or Inpatient Rehabilitation experience OR student affiliation
