This position is responsible for maintaining the overall quality assurance requirements for the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the receiving, audit/inspection, and induction (RAI) process. This individual must be able to work within cross-functional teams to meet and improve upon established quality and delivery goals. The successful candidate will be a focal point for RAI quality issues, as well as responsible for continuing to develop and improve the processes associated with compliance to Rockwell Collins Quality Standards.
Job responsibilities: •Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. •Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. •Participate in quality investigations and/or internal audits to assess conformance to specifications, company procedures and overall compliance to regulations and assures that the Quality Management System methods and procedures are followed. •Demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently and with flexibility in order to meet changing business needs in a fast-paced team environment. • Validating the effectiveness of inspection steps and techniques • Responding to and writing Corrective Actions • Under minimal supervision, performs a variety of complex parts/product inspection tasks (inspects for defects, errors, variation) and/or evaluates manufacturing processes and procedures following Rockwell Collins Quality Management Systems/Procedures and Workmanship Standards. • Evaluates products, processes, and procedures through the use of schematic diagrams, sketches, drawings, layout, work instructions and quality operating procedures to ensure accuracy. • Required to use measuring devices/inspection tools (micrometers, gauges, scales, calipers, etc.) to verify specifications. • Reports defects, errors, and variations and analyzes data. Maintains accurate records of all inspection for department and company wide audits. • Using trend data, assists in determining root cause and corrective action activities for process and product improvements. • Will be asked to perform random audits of all manufacturing processes, procedures and products. • Required to enter time in FIT timekeeping system, charging time to programs being worked and time/attendance. • Regular and reliable attendance is required as well as flexibility to support production schedule requiring working overtime hours and alternate shift hours. • Work in a safe manner, per Rockwell Collins Environmental Health and Safety policies. • May be required to perform additional duties/responsibilities. May be asked to train and mentor other employees. • Requires knowledge of SAP and computer skills to be used in conjunction with report outs/findings. • May take the Lead in Lean activities and contributes ideas for continuous improvement.
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience.
US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required. Previous/current quality experience and experience with GD&T required.
