The Senior Fiscal Officer (SFO) in Research and Strategic Partnerships (RSP) develops, maintains and administers all budgets and finances in RSP, taking direction from the Vice President for Research and Strategic Partnerships (VPRSP) and the RSP Leadership Team. Sources of funding include Education and General (E&G) funds, Facilities and Administration (F&A) Cost Recoveries, Building Use Credits, Licenses/Royalties, RSP funds in the PSU Foundation (including the University Venture Development Fund), and other funds generated by activities in RSP units.

The SFO advises the Vice President and the RSP Leadership Team regarding budgetary, financial and administrative issues. The SFO also develops financial models for proposed research administration and development programs as needed.

The SFO leads the RSP financial team, which provides budgetary, financial and transactional support for all RSP units, including University Centers and Institutes which report to the Vice President for Research and Strategic Partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Five years’ experience in budgeting, accounting and/or finance. Strong Excel skills. Three years’ experience using a complex, entity-wide Enterprise Resource System. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Successful completion of a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Experience in higher education budget and finance. Management experience overseeing two or more employees.
