Job Description

Carollo Engineers is a premier environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. As a member of Carollo's IT Apps-Dev team, the Application System Administrator will perform daily administrative functions including monitoring, vendor/custom implementations, DevOps automation, and build/architecture various enterprise systems and hosted solutions. This position contains a software developer, secondary role that includes analysis, code creation, testing, implementation, and documentation. The system administrator is a hands-on technical role with opportunity to grow, learn, and experience technical diversity on a daily basis. This position will report to the IT Apps-Dev Lead.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build, administer, and monitor critical application systems within the Apps-Dev app/server inventory which includes Windows servers and services, enterprise system platforms, database, integration, utility, web/app servers

  • Implement alpha, beta, and prod releases with detailed system server documentation

  • Upgrade administrative tools and utilities, configure, and add new services as necessary

  • Perform ongoing performance tuning and resource optimization as required within the Apps-Dev inventory

  • Work with InfoSec and Infrastructure to apply and test MS SCEP scans, OS patches, change and configuration management, and backup table-top testing

  • Work with InfoSec and the development team to help ensure security on systems

  • Collaborate with software developers to build small utilities and business applications that fit business needs

  • Take ownership and perform detail project management on assigned projects

  • Define application server universe by creating thorough documentation, visual diagrams, lifecycle road-maps, forecasting application and data relevancy, classification, procurement, decommissioning of assets, and workflow with other enterprise systems

  • Collaborate with the business and IT teams by offering recommendations, brainstorming, defining problem statements, objectives, metadata, risks, and requirements; forge a game plan for the maintenance, fix, and/or new solution that provides the best fit

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Microsoft certifications in Information Systems or related area

  • Minimum of 5 years in software system administration

  • Minimum of 3 years with MS SharePoint 2010 - 2013 (on premise) front-end and back-end administration and implementation

  • Minimum of 4 years with SQL Server 2005 - 2016, SSIS, SSRS administration and implementation

  • Minimum of 2 years SAAS experience

  • Minimum 2 years of software development experience in VBA, .Net/VB, or .Net/C#, ASPX code

  • Experience with various software technologies and tools including HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, AJAX technologies, Windows Workflow Foundation, Windows Communication Foundation, Microsoft Visual Studio 2012+, TFS, Microsoft SharePoint Designer

  • Experience with Office 365 tools and technologies including Power Bi, One Drive, and SharePoint Online

Preferred Experience

  • 7 years of experience in system administration that includes SQL Server 2012 - 2016

  • 5+ years of experience in SharePoint back-end administration , 3 years in SharePoint 2013

  • Experience in implementing SharePoint 2013 third-party components (i.e. Bamboo)

  • Experience implementing large systems (i.e. Intranet, ERP, CRM)
