Mission: To ultrasonically inspect castings to assure compliance to customer specifications and to ensure that minimum dimensional requirements are met as it pertains to Ultrasonic Thickness Testing. Safety: 1. Adheres to plant and department safety rules 2. Demonstrates safe work practices 3. Safely operates all equipment and tools 4. Identifies and reports safety issues Principle Accountabilities: 1. To measure casting tolerances utilizing Ultrasonic Testing Thickness equipment 2. Review techcards/router for work instructions 3. Fixture parts as necessary 4. Perform UTT equipment calibration per QCM requirements 5. Disposition casting results for appropriate masking, rework, or acceptability 6. Record/document inspection results Training: 1. 6 hours of formal instruction per Appendix A outline 2. 40 hours minimum OJT 3. Successful completion of modules and audits pertaining to UTT certification Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma or GED 2. Success completion of a visual acuity exam 3. Ability to read, interpret, and follow specifications on techcards and other technical material 4. Ability to perform basic math calculations as they apply to UTT 5. Ability to work independently 6. Good communication skills 7. Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing thirty five pounds and occasionally up to eighty pounds or more using appropriate assisted lift procedures. 8. Performs other tasks as assigned/directed 9. Provides training to others as directed 10. Ability to work in difficult conditions which may include exposure to noise , dust, chemicals, and awkward physical positions for extended periods of time 11.
