Employment Status: Part-time, Regular, Non-Exempt

Typical Hours Required: Friday 11 PM - 9 AM, Saturday 11 PM - 8 AM

Pay Rate: $12 per hour

General Description of Work

Responsible for ministering to referral bed guests and Connect participants during the overnight hours, complete laundry and janitorial tasks as needed, and maintaining a safe environment.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct incremental rounds for security purposes (walk through second floor)

  • Answer phone to take messages, answer questions, and make appropriate referrals

  • Maintain a safe and healing environment for the residents, guests and staff through current practices of ministry as defined in the Outreach Best Practice Manual

  • Perform basic, operationally needed tasks like laundry rotation during the overnight hours

General Functions

  • Interact with female guests sleeping in Connect and referral beds

  • Monitor security cameras

  • Be available for relational ministry – especially with women in our long-term program

  • Participate in Portland Rescue Mission special events including holiday celebrations, outings, meetings, retreats, and banquets including weekly staff meetings and trainings as able outside of shift coverage

  • Demonstrate flexibility in working together as a team member for the common goals of PRM including performance of tasks outside the parameters of this job description
