Mennonite Village CNA Part Time and On Call available in Albany, Oregon
Mennonite Village is a premiere not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community in Oregon's beautiful Mid-Willamette Valley. We are now accepting applications for Certified Nursing Assistants. Shifts available: Part Time/On Call-All Shifts /Shift differential for hours worked between 10PM & 6AM. New NA grads encouraged to apply.
Reads and adheres to resident’s bedside care plan.
Monitors and provides hygiene and general care of resident’s body, skin, nails, hair, eyes, ears, mouth, and face.
Provides assistance for and supervises proper fluid and nutritional intake of residents.
Assists with restorative nursing procedures: good body alignment, range-of-motion exercise, transferring, use of gait belt, etc.
Ability to safely operate a Hoyer lift in accordance with the safe handling (zero lift) policy and procedure.
Provides emotional support, validation for residents.
Assists residents with dressing, bathing, and grooming as needed with privacy.
Maintains residents’ dignity by providing privacy and confidentiality.
Reports observations and pertinent information to the licensed supervisor – such as unusual symptoms, changes, accidents, injuries, etc.
Encourages and promotes resident participation in activities of interest; plans and schedules care to allow for attendance of all desired activity programs.
Aides in the transfer of all residents to and from activity programs.
Capable of transferring residents, with assistance, according to care plan, or as necessary.
Use and model safety measures for residents and self, with assistance as needed, according to the safe handling policy by using gait belts, proper body mechanics, Hoyer lift, etc. as ordered.
Responds to call lights promptly and ensures that call light is within resident’s reach.
Provides accurate documentation reflecting the daily care provided to the resident
Practices standard precautions with every resident. Practices additional precautions per direction of charge nurse.
Protects and promotes residents’ rights as identified in the “Mennonite Home Residents’ Rights.”
Attends in-services according to State requirements. Keep current on resident’s needs by attending care conferences.
Assists in keeping resident’s room clean.
Ability to teach and train Nursing Assistants and new staff.
Demonstrates to peers the correct methods and model behavior needed to address client care needs on an individualized basis.
Regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of the job.
Abides by the HIPAA policies and reports to a supervisor, breaches (or violations) of our HIPAA policies.
Immediately reports identified hazards or hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Immediately reports adverse events and near misses to a supervisor.
Attends mandatory training on HIPPA and compliance annually.

Must be a certified CNA in the State of Oregon.
Ability to describe the Resident Centered Model of care after appropriate teaching, and be willing to execute this model in the Mennonite Home.
Ability to be flexible, patient, creative, willing to learn and be motivated to enhance the lives of residents residing in the Mennonite Home.
Ability to work with and communicate effectively with the elderly.
Ability to safely move frequently during work day, including carrying, lifting, standing, sitting, bending reaching, and kneeling.
Ability to work under time pressure and stress.
Ability to push and/or pull wheelchairs and other equipment.
Visual and auditory acuity within normal limits
Ability to work under time pressure and stress.
Must be flexible and responsive to change on short notice.
Sufficient English and Language skills to follow instruction from staff. Must be able to understand and respond properly to resident’s needs.
Ability to accurately document activities of daily living.
Basic computer knowledge.
