Local food processor is seeking an experience Journeyman Electrician to join our team. Please read job description below. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This individual, under little or no supervision, is responsible for the efficiency and safety of all plant electrical circuits. Perform electrical construction and maintenance projects on a timely basis. Must possess a valid State of Oregon Limited Journeyman Manufacturing Plant Electrician license or higher. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position will include moving and maneuvering equipment weighing 50 pounds or more. Work will be performed on ladders and high platforms. POSITION PRE-REQUISITES: 1. Have ability to complete forms and necessary paperwork accurately and legibly. 2. Ability to effectively interact with plant personal in a professional and customer service oriented manner. 3. Ability to obtain or already possess a General National Frozen Foods forklift license (through an in house training class). 4. Ability to use a computer and to apply your knowledge of basic computer skills. 5. Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision (highly self-motivated) 6. Possess valid Oregon Driver's License. 7. Ability to work flexible hours. 8. Have ability to problem solve, read, write, and comprehend in English, and interact with co-workers to resolve problems. 9. Have ability to organize and set priorities. 10. Have ability to pass a maintenance skills written test and a practical skills test. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Perform or direct all maintenance wiring, installation of motors, switches, switch panels, fuse boxes, lighting, testing, and power circuits. 2. Determine proper size and specifications of wire, conduit, switches, panels, fuses, etc. to meet applicable code requirements. 3. Read and understand blueprints and circuit diagrams. 4. Inspect and troubleshoot motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, lighting, heating, and power circuits. Make preventative repairs and corrections as needed. 5. Perform installation, connection, adjustment and calibration of electrical gauges and recording instruments. 6. Make repairs on ignition and electrical systems of automotive equipment. 7. Program, maintain and repair programmable logic controllers. 8. Supervise apprentice electricians of different experience levels. 9. Make up material and parts lists and assist in electric shop organization and parts inventories. 10. Must have and maintain personal tool inventory. 11. Be able to work any shift, additional shift hours and weekends, as needed. 12. Work cooperatively with shift supervisors and fellow employees. 13. Practice good housekeeping. 14. Report all safety hazards to supervisor or manager. 15. Must obey all safety, health, sanitation, and plant rules and procedures. 16. Perform other duties as directed.
