The OEM Commodity Manager will be part of and help develop the growing Tektronix OEM Department by providing Supply Chain expertise to support all Tektronix locations with primary responsibilities for the Beaverton, Oregon; Solon, Ohio; and Shanghai, China locations. The OEM Commodity Manager will provide leadership in areas of strategic sourcing and program management to help source, qualify, program manage, and develop our OEM suppliers as required to support our business needs, product strategies, and Portfolio Team requirements. The OEM Commodity Manager will also drive OEM suppliers to deliver best in class innovative technology, pricing, savings, delivery, quality, and service. The successful candidate must always be available, ready, and willing to help the organization as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Supply Chain expertise, guidance, and support for all assigned OEM projects using Tektronix’s OEM methodology, processes, & tools.

  • Facilitate early engagement and collaboration with Tektronix engineering to understand technical needs, participate and contribute to roadmap creation and enable alignment of requirements with supplier capabilities.

  • Manage and drive supplier assessment, qualification, and selection.

  • Manage and drive supplier contract negotiations and administration.

  • Manage supplier performance and deliver best in class payment terms, pricing, savings, OTD, and quality.

  • Develop and provide OEM education and training regarding the OEM process to Tektronix Associates, Management, and Suppliers.

  • Own and drive supplier business review meetings.

  • Conduct project reviews with the Tektronix Core Team, Portfolio Management, and Supplier as necessary ensuring contract compliance.

  • Research, source, assess, and recommend new OEM suppliers as needed to satisfy Tektronix requirements.

  • Perform OEM updates to the Tektronix Core Team, Portfolio Management, and Program Managers informed regarding supplier performance, issues, and / or risks.

  • Identify and mitigate internal and external risks to the OEM Commodity including development of business continuity plans and other Supply Chain countermeasures with high risk suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain required. MBA preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Supply Chain and Procurement.

  • Demonstrated skill in Program Management methods, concepts, and tools.

  • Experience in contract strategy development, contract terms and conditions, negotiations, and administration.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to lead a cross-functional, culturally diverse and matrixed team with people in remote geographic locations.

  • Experience working with design engineers and technical partners to develop roadmaps, statement of work requirements and associated cost models.

  • Able to work effectively across geographies with Tektronix Associates, Management, and Senior Leadership.

  • Customer oriented, innovative thinker, able to deliver results, conducts business with honesty and integrity, and knows how to get the job done in a fast paced and challenging environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.

  • Experienced with ERP applications and tools.

  • Familiar with Kaizen and lean manufacturing principles.
