Nike Senior Manager of Strategy and Workforce Optimization in Beaverton, Oregon


  • Bachelor's degree (5 years additional experience in lieu of degree)

  • 5 years operations and/or retail experience

  • Store workload planning experience

  • Experience working with workforce management systems

  • Servant leadership - leadership/direct report experience with a demonstrated track record for growing and leading a team of individuals

  • 3 or more years of validated experience in one or more of the following areas: finance operations, finance, accounting (e.g. experience building a budget, financial storytelling)

  • Outstanding writing, communication, and presentation skills

  • Experience building technical, process and/or program materials

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment

  • Ability to structure work, frame issues, and produce analyses that answer sophisticated questions in a pragmatic approach


We seek a strong people leader with experience in retail, particularly workforce management (WFM) systems to help support Nike’s North America retail stores through systems, effective schedules and labor management.

As the Senior Manager of Strategy and Workforce Optimization with the North America Retail Operations Service & Experience (ROSE) team, you will drive retail operational excellence by providing expertise (tools, systems, communication, and processes) vital for stores to improve efficiency and profitability. You will focus on setting standards and best methods within the labor model to protect and deliver sales and service!


  • Passion for continuous strategic and conceptual improvement with end to end attitude

  • Efficacy in storytelling and influencing at various leadership levels

  • A love for developing strategic and operational insights for workforce planning and decision making

  • An interest in analysis and support of organizational change, process, programs, and business segmentation in a timely and accurate manner

  • Passion for quantitative and qualitative analysis, driving clear results and guiding others towards business objectives

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with validated experience leading discussions with senior leadership

  • Moderate knowledge of HR policies, operations and standard methodologies


This individual will be responsible to:

  • Lead, develop, and encourage the Workforce Optimization team

  • Develop the short-term and long-term strategic plans to drive productivity and efficiency in stores

  • Drive budget planning cycles through effective support of operational understanding and planning to maximize the labor budgeting process

  • Advance the evolution of our store labor model including exciting new concepts for future Nike stores

  • Build productivity programs and enhancements that elevate the athlete and consumer experience

  • Apply sophisticated workforce planning techniques and tools (e.g. scenario modeling, demand forecasting, trend analysis predictive modeling) to provide insight and recommendations on staffing plans and long-term staffing strategies

  • Connect cross-functional teams to coordinate aligned strategies regarding consumer, athlete and profit and loss impacts

  • Build strong and productive relationships with program partners within the business, finance, brand, marketing, product presentation, store operations, legal and human resources teams


You will be a vital member of the ROSE team within North America Nike Direct while working collaboratively with Retail Store Teams & Leadership, Technology, Global Retail Operations, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and Finance.
