As a Senior QA Engineer you will:

  • Participate in the development and testing of highly secure solutions by ensuring that PAN and PII are kept secure and confidential at all times

  • Work directly with business owners to elicit and understand operational requirements and explain system processes, capabilities and limitations

  • Estimate, plan, and coordinate testing activities in a dynamic development environment

  • Challenge requirements and design; recommend alternatives to QA manager

  • Contribute to and enhance our automated testing initiative

  • Drive and craft test plans and test cases from acceptance criteria and by analyzing code to identify areas for modification

  • Formulate ideas and actions as part of on-going quality assurance improvement activities

  • Maintain and support existing test systems, test plans and test cases - execute and re-assess test plans and scenarios during development and testing process

  • Perform unit testing and results validation of system changes to ensure high quality results

  • Identify and classify defects for review and work with product owners to determine course of action

  • Proactively and effectively communicate with Production Support, Infrastructure and other internal and external teams

  • Follow the development processes & practices defined in the GFS SDLC methodology policy document

  • Utilize understanding of software development lifecycle concepts in defining and organizing work

  • Understand business fundamentals by building knowledge of customers, products and market

  • Follow and understand technical approach developed by others, identify improvements to be more efficient, and participate in defining approaches/designs

Accountability:

  • The incumbent is directly accountable to ensure that system modifications meet all development & database standards, are maintainable and well documented; the work product is accurate and meets end user requirements; and system issues are escalated in a timely manner.

  • Applies knowledge of software development cycles and uses those concepts that are applicable to their own and/or work group tasks

  • Works on multiple activities within area of expertise and rarely needs to seek out technical guidance on special assignments

  • Works under little general supervision

  • Works on problems of moderate complexity within field of expertise and outcome is defined, features and modules

  • Influences effectiveness of teamwork

Requirements

  • 3-8 years’ experience in all aspects of the application development process; including gathering end user requirements, coding, testing, deployment, and the creation of documentation.

  • Experience with some of the following: QAComplete, Selenium, tSQLt, C#, VBScript, JavaScript, ASP/ASP.Net, HTML, XML, SQL Server (T-SQL/SQL Stored Procedures),, ADO.Net, IIS, Visual Studio, TFS, Bootstrap, MVC.

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills required

  • Ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines

  • Works under close supervision within a team environment

  • 4 year degree in computer related field or equivalent experience in computer systems desired.
