Summary

The primary goal of the Sr. Help Desk Technician is to provide Tier 1/2 and 3 technical support to Genesis corporate users.

This role is a member of the Help Desk and is responsible for supporting the PC, printer, and laptop corporate infrastructure. The position will also collaborate with other IT staff on a variety of various projects, and involves a combination of technical expertise and customer service.

As our Sr. Help Desk Technician you will:

  • Assist in daily support of Help Desk staff, Help Desk manager and Sr. Desktop Engineers.

  • Guide, advise and inform Help Desk Analysts as to appropriate procedures.

  • Collaborate with Help Desk manager to drive continuous process improvement.

  • Collect Help Desk metrics from ticketing systems.

  • Maintain documentation on processes and procedures related to help desk duties and requirements.

  • Answer phones and monitor the Help Desk email for incoming requests. Respond to end user requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner in accordance with published Help Desk standards

  • Triage tickets as they arrive in the ticketing system and assign to appropriate team.

  • Maintain corporate PC’s, laptops, and printers.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including password resets and user account creation.

  • Support asset management for IT department.

  • Support remote and traveling employees with PC, laptop, and connectivity issues.

  • Set up new employee’s PC, phone, and account information.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree and/or 5 years of experience working as a Help Desk Technician with Windows PC’s.

  • Must have good attention to detail and quality, strong customer service skills, and organizational ability.

  • Proven skills troubleshooting a wide variety of hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

  • Ability to track work using ticketing system.

  • High level of understanding of PC/Laptop hardware, Windows 7, Windows 10 configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Experience in supporting remote users.

  • Experience in troubleshooting of MS Office 365.

  • Knowledge of pc/laptop imaging and patching.

  • Knowledge of IP stack in terms of its usage on the deskside environment.

  • Knowledge of Android and iOS.

  • Knowledge of IP phone systems.

  • Understanding of basic level Windows Server administration and configuration.

  • Understanding and ability to administer users and computers within Active Directory Users and Computers.

  • Agile project methodology.

  • Exchange user administration: DL’s, shared mailboxes, resource mailboxes.

  • Cisco UCM and Unity administration.

  • RSA user/token administration for VPN.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL.

  • Strong MS office background.

  • Imaging and software deployment using SCCM.
