Summary

The Sr. Technical Project Manager (TPM) will function as the primary point of contact between Information Technology and internal lines of business within GFS, responsible for project management and delivery. The ideal candidate with understand our client’s Information Technology needs and coordinate across IT and relevant vendors and partners to deliver high quality results on time and budget.

As our Sr. Technical Project Manager you will:

  • Manage project teams that range from product managers, IT and QA engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders.

  • Rigorous scheduling, with overall accountability at the program level.

  • Manage project budgets – including initial estimation, tracking of actuals, and understanding variances.

  • Develop and execute resource plans, communication plans, and define and execute risk management plans.

  • Proactively approach and communicate to stakeholders effectively, with emphasis on maintaining alignment with core sponsors.

  • Manage changes against project schedule, scope, and cost; lead assessment of impact on the larger portfolio of projects.

  • Experience with Scrum and Scrum processes, Agile project management, including but not limited to facilitating planning sessions, daily standups, and managing escalations for the teams.

  • Successfully manage project dependencies and constraints.

  • Contract and vendor management: build partnerships across organizational, departmental, and geographical boundaries.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, or related field.

  • 8+ years professional experience with at least 2 years in Technical Project Management.

  • Proven functional experience developing and managing schedules, scope, budgets, resource plans, issues, risks, and change requests.

  • Ability to project milestones/deliverables delays and critical resource allocation issues from work the breakdown schedule.

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies; Scrum Master or PMP certification a plus.

  • Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) a plus.

  • Experience working with cross functional teams.

  • Understanding of the release management process.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with a customer service orientation; ability to discuss technical topics with a non-technical audience.

  • Possess mature business acumen and have the ability to work closely with all levels of employees and management.

  • Proven ability to motivate teams to achieve defined deliverables.

  • Experience in financial services or servicing operations desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with business process improvements and methodologies is preferred.
