Thermo Fisher Scientific Chromatography Consumables Account Manager III in Bend, Oregon
As an Account Manager for the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division, you will be a key member of the Thermo Fisher Scientific sales team. In this role you will represent, promote, sell and support Thermo Fisher Scientific's portfolio of chromatography consumables in the Pacific Northwest territory (Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho).
How will you make an impact?
The Chromatography account manager is a key commercial role within Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a solution's focused provider the Account Manager III role serves as customer facing chromatography consumables consultant to ensure a complete workflow solution from sample prep to sample separation. As such the Account Manager III will develop and maintain relationships with chromatography and mass spectrometry instrument technical sales partners to ensure a winning customer focused solution is provided with every sale. The Account Manager III will also develop and maintain relationships with local channel distribution partners, product & application specialists, support sales teams, product management, manufacturing, and intra-company sales divisions to deepen account penetration and widen field footprint. The Account Manager III will use these relationships to drive customer satisfaction, loyalty, and brand recognition in support of the Thermo Scientific mission to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
What will you do?
Achieve and exceed assigned sales goals within assigned territory
Identify sales targets and align portfolio with customer needs as a solutions provider
Develop and implement strategic account specific strategies to increase share of wallet and secure territorial annual sales growth consistent with corporate/divisional AOP goals
Ability to use sales tools, develop detailed business plans, organize, accurately forecast territory results, provide market intelligence, implement value selling and meet sales objections while operating within expense budgets and control costs
Be proficient with excel and pivot tables
Identify and capitalize on emerging market demands and trends to maintain Thermo Fisher Scientifics technology leader and solutions provider status
Aligns with applicable channel/distribution partners, telesales reps, channel distribution partners, product & application specialists, chromatography & mass spectrometry instruments, customer experience and business development teams to develop, nurture, and maintain a wide and robust sales network
Plan and execute account and market specific sales strategies for key accounts
Maintain and continue to develop a superior knowledge of our products and their applications.
Train and motivate channel/distribution/rep organizations to optimize achievement of sales goals via their supplementary efforts.
Monitor competitive activity and industry trends, fosters competitive solutions to meet sales goals
Timely submit forecasts, weekly reports, monthly highlights, marketing intelligence, and other related reports for defined territory to supervisor
Maintain accurate and current records of proposals, opportunities, accounts, contacts, leads and actions via regular CRM engagement
Education and Required Experience:
BS/BA degree in Chemistry or related field required
Minimum two years of selling experience strongly preferred.
Must have working knowledge of Chromatography (GC and HPLC) and should have knowledge of Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS and LC/MS) and Chromatography Information Data Systems (CDS/LIMS).
Must also have a broad familiarity with the following industries: biotech, pharmaceutical, academia research, medical research, environmental, food/flavors, clinical/toxicology, forensics, and petrochemical/petroleum.
Experience developing and executing sales and/or field marketing plans as well as time/territory management plans to develop long-term relationships, drive account expansion and penetration.
Knowledgeable with respect to competitive landscape for chromatography products and services.
Ability to identify new target accounts each year and be able to develop and execute territory plans.
Prior experience forecasting and use of a CRM (SFDC) for reporting.
Ability to create and manipulate pivot tables from excel spreadsheets
Experience in managing independent selling or distribution channels a definite plus.
