Job Summary/Purpose:

Computer Lab Attendants are available as a resource to students for all COCC technology account questions and who have specific questions regarding computer usage & techniques or who are encountering computer problems while in the labs and over the phone.

Job Location is on the Bend and Redmond Campus.

Terms of Employment: • This is a part-time (<.50 FTE) Federal Work Study position • Requires flexible work schedule, which may include evenings and/or weekends as well as travel throughout the district when needed. •Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 2020-2021. •Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid. • Upon hire, must pass criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered.

Essential Functions:

  1. Level I plus the following
  2. Proven interpersonal communication and customer services skills
  3. A strong knowledge of all computer lab policy & procedures
  4. Knowledge of lab computers and systems
  5. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  6. A strong knowledge of COCC Accounts
  7. A mentor for lab attendant Level I
  8. Able to trouble-shoot computer hardware and software problems
  9. Able to answer Feedback 365 questions
  10. Other duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of and experience with filing and organization • Experience with and have good computer skills. • Must have good customer service skills. • Ability to do different tasks daily.

Physical Demands and Other Ergonomic Requirements:

Working hours are regular, per the established work schedule. Work is performed in an ordinary office, mostly sitting. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature with the ability to sit or stand at workstation for extended periods. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms and requires near visual acuity to write, read written materials and computer screens, and sufficient hearing and speech ability for ordinary telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting under ten pounds for 15 percent of the time. Must have the abilities as able to crawl under desks to check cabling and able to carrying supplies to other campus buildings. All individuals are required to be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 202-2021.
  2. Successfully pass a background check.
  3. Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid.
  4. Basic knowledge of computers, the Internet, COCC email, and MS Office.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  5. Students majoring in Computer Information Systems or Business preferred.

  6. One school year or 3+ terms of experience working at Level I.  • Has demonstrated knowledge of lab affairs and troubleshooting. • Successfully followed all policies and procedures. • Has not had any disciplinary actions. • Completed all Bb assignments with a grade of 95% or higher per term. • Completes cleaning responsibilities as assigned. • Outstanding attendance a) missed meetings were approved by supervisor b) makeup assignments were completed r service. • Displayed exceptional customer service. • Always wears their lab nametag or t-shirt.
