The Role This position is responsible for operating the various packaging palletizing equipment/machines for multiple packaging lines relevant to the position. This position requires a technical aptitude to be able to clean, make adjustments, and troubleshoot packaging palletizing equipment. An ability to use equipment computer touch screen panels, change over from one cased product to another, and inspect for case, bag, and code condition to meet acceptable customer quality standards. Key Accountabilities Other duties may be assigned: Must be able to ensure packaging palletizing equipment is run correctly and efficiently while meeting all safety and quality standards as determined by the product packaging customer specifications. Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. Understand and comply with all safety policies and procedures. Assure all equipment is properly adjusted and center lined to run efficiently. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment as directed by plant policies and procedures. Must have the ability to work overtime as required. Must actively practice and abide by all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and general hygiene regulations as outlined in the employee handbook. Ability to operate equipment utilizing computer touch screen panels to make adjustments to packaging palletizing equipment to optimize efficiency and change from one product to another. Manage the startup and shutdown of equipment as assigned. Responsible for maintaining proper housekeeping of the palletizer area as needed using plant methods and procedures. Ability to clean then sanitize palletizing equipment and area as needed. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisory staff and maintenance personnel regarding safety, quality, operational, or mechanical issues which arise and cannot be resolved by the palletizer. Must be able to recognize dangerous or hazardous situations and follow proper hazardous energy control procedures as outlined in plant policies and procedures. Must be able to observe quality issues with finished product such as damage to the packaging case, bags inside of case, or inaccurate or ineligible case codes. Must be able to move, lift, carry, and stack cases of finished product as required frequently. Operate stretch wrap machine and replace roll of film for stretch wrap (50lbs) when necessary. Able to obtain and meet requirements for operation and qualification of lift truck. Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader or lead personnel.
