Oracle Director, Digital Demand, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Remote) in Corvallis, Oregon

Development and implementation of business plans, marketing strategy, and forecasts for a product/service or vertical market. Manages a staff of managers.

As a manager in product marketing, you will be responsible for leading the development of company marketing specifications for specific product(s) or product line(s). Manage marketing activities within the context of the overall corporate plan to meet company objectives. Monitor the development of business plans and business results of e-marketing. Manage lifecycles and product positioning in the market place. Identify customer needs, oversee market research, and monitor the market trends/competitive landscape. Implement and monitor advertising campaigns. Act as a technical advisor for specific product(s). Initiate and foster relationships with development, sales, and other groups to develop new products or enhance functionality of existing product(s) or product line(s). Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Practical internet knowledge. Software business management experience. 7 years technical marketing experience. Previous development experience or developer marketing experience desired. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Successful track record in management. BA/BS degree. MBA preferred.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

About You

You are a leader, and a team player with experience working and collaborating with cross-functional global teams. A problem solver and idea generator, you have experience working in Digital Marketing, withexperience designing, implementing and leveraging ad purchase tools and advanced analytics platforms. You inspire both executive and operational audiences to adopt and realize the full value of direct digital marketing solutions. You have a passion for identifying and rolling out strategic campaigns to improve business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Drive direct consumption of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) through paid digital marketing (search, social, email, and video) to cloud developers and cloud operators from current and prospective customers

  • Author and/or edit copy directed to developers/operators as a peer with technical authority and relevance

  • Plan, purchase, execute, measure, and refine frequent experiments to optimize copy and other assets for maximum cloud consumption impact

  • Propose and validate ideas for use of direct digital marketing potentially including: search, display, social, video, podcasts, email, SMS, or other direct digital channels

  • Track flow of impact from click on advertising; through cloud trial via click-to-deploy reference architecture or infrastructure as code template; ultimately to paid OCI usage

  • Leverage currently available internal and licensed tools/services and propose additional tools/services as needed

  • Develop analytical framework for analyzing campaigns for insights and improvements

  • Hire and lead more junior team members; Integrate with peers across Oracle

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong familiarity with cloud computing concepts and ability to author and edit copy appealing to developer and operator audiences

  • Strong understanding of modern marketing methods including marketing automation tools, demand generation, digital nurture, social media, programmatic display/video and media planning.

  • Direct digital advertising authoring, purchase, experimentation, measurement, and refinement including but not limited to:

o Search keyword advertising on Google (and Bing, Duck Duck Go, etc.)

o Advertising on developer-focused sites such as StackOverflow

o Video advertising on YouTube or other channels

o Social advertising on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or other channels

o Optimizing social content for organic promotion by Oracle field, partners, and industry observers

  • Digital advertising art direction

  • Experimentation and measurement platforms

  • Audience definition and targeting, ideally targeting developers, open source software contributors, and similar

  • Ability to work with people across a range of experiences and capabilities: accepting their current knowledge and capabilities; and encouraging and supporting their learning and growth in new areas

  • 5-8 years digital marketing experience

  • 2-5 years direct digital marketing to developer and cloud operator audiences

  • 1-3 years people management
