Minimum/Required Qualifications PhD in Geography, Geospatial Science, or a closely related discipline by the start date of the position. Relevant teaching experience and evidence of and/or commitment to teaching excellence. Demonstrated commitment to educational equity in a multicultural setting and a commitment to advancing the participation of diverse groups and supporting diverse perspectives. Expertise with GIS theory, analysis, and applications (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online). Expertise with remote sensing theory, analysis, and applications (Google Earth Engine, ENVI). Expertise in cartographic theory, design, aesthetics/critique, and web mapping software (e.g., Leaflet, Cesium, or ArcGIS API). Expertise in geospatial information workflows (acquisition, manipulation, analysis, visualization, and storytelling). Effective communicator in oral and written forms. Position Duties 80% ' Instruction: Teach courses on campus and online (Ecampus) in geospatial science and spatial reasoning, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), cartography, web mapping, spatiotemporal analysis and modeling, remote sensing. and/or other courses pursuant to the individual's expertise and programmatic needs. Develop courses and curriculum, online courses, and digital content. Prepare and present class materials and assignments, grade assignments, and post student grades. Dependent upon course size, may supervise teaching assistants. Interact professionally, effectively, and in a timely fashion with students and university staff. Maintain office hours for on-campus courses. Maintain and update course content to meet programmatic needs and improve student success. Collaborate with other program faculty and OSU Extended Campus on curriculum content and development.
