The Corvallis Clinic Quality Director in Corvallis, Oregon

Summary: The Director of Quality must plan, organize, direct, and lead the staff and work processes of the Quality Improvement department. The director has detailed understanding and can skillfully use the techniques of system design, reengineering, project management, quality improvement, process improvement outcomes measurement, and statistical analysis. The director is responsible for conformance to regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and corporate policy for the organization's quality improvement program and initiatives. The director will ensure that the clinic is able to access and effectively interpret, use, and leverage critical clinical and business data to improve patient care and maximize shareholder return on investment. Responsibilities: * Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Caregiver Handbook. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within. * Responsible for overall planning, development, and implementation of health care quality programs, products, and services, particularly to address the clinical needs of patients and to support the practice of clinical staff. * Supports the accomplishment of corporate strategic plans that achieve high impact and significant improvements in organizational performance. * Systematically applies the science and theory of project management to achieve results on time and within budget. Must be results and outcomes oriented. * Responsible for ensuring staff are prepared and equipped to support the current and future needs of the clinic. This will include, but is not limited to, providing the staff with the appropriate training and tools to transform and support data mining and quality improvement initiatives. * Supervises employees who lead or facilitate quality improvement activities, provide project management, data analysis and measurement of outcomes, document and report the results and accomplishments of quality improvement initiatives. * Guides the analysis, interpretation, and display of key quality improvement data to foster organizational understanding of and engagement in quality improvement projects and initiatives. Outline and effectively communicate complex subject matter so it can be fully understood and appropriately acted upon by key stakeholders. * Provides input and impact on budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling, and procedural change to achieve and maintain an efficient, cost-effective program. * Oversees and monitors the development and implementation of the quality improvement programs/initiatives. * Performs under minimal supervision with accountability for specific goals/objectives. * Develops performance improvement targets for quality, service, and efficiency of the organization. Provides leadership for implementing changes targeted at systems improvement. Measures and evaluates attainment of results. * Applies, teaches, and skillfully uses techniques for system design, reengineering, quality improvement, outcomes measurement, and statistical analysis. * Assures that improvement activities are documented and reported within the organization and externally as appropriate. * Demonstrates problem solving, leadership, conflict management, and team building skills to ensure a productive work environment and achievement of goals. Education, licensure, and experience: * Bachelor's degree or higher in Health Sciences, Business, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, or Management Engineering. Master’s degree preferred. * Five years of work experience in healthcare, two years of progressively responsible management experience. * Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is preferred. * Specific healthcare work experience in quality improvement, systems design, or project management Knowledge and skills: * Project management techniques or software to achieve results on time and within budget. Is outcome and results oriented. * The basic tools of continuous improvement, work process redesign, or reengineering. * Data and program analysis, interpretation, and display. * Organization and planning, managing multiple demands, and achieving results. * Analytical reasoning interprets and evaluates complex information, while identifying patterns and essential issues. * Word processing, spreadsheets, and database software. * General and specific understanding of EHR software and related systems. * Team development and facilitation techniques applied to quality improvement or project teams to achieve their highest potential. * Superb written and oral communication skills with particular emphasis on presentation skills.
