The Lundquist College of Business is one of seven schools housing academic programs on the University of Oregon campus. The College works cooperatively with other UO Colleges and Schools to prepare students for a broad range of career paths. There are approximately 50 full-time faculty members, 48 instructors and pro tem instructors, 40 administrative positions, 30 staff members, 1,200 undergraduate majors, 2,250 pre-business majors, 1,200 undergraduate minors, 170 master’s students and 30 doctoral students.
The Lundquist College of Business (LCB) maintains a pool of candidates interested in filling pro tempore teaching positions as needs arise in their Eugene Programs (Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing and Operations and Business Analytics). Pro Tem Instructor positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. In limited circumstances, there is the possibility of renewal beyond three years based on programmatic need, funding and performance. Pro Tem Instructors work under the supervision of the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and/or the requisite department head.
All positions are subject to funding. Salary is based on qualifications and rank.
LCB seeks applicants in the following areas:
Accounting; Finance; Management; Marketing; Management Information Systems; Statistics and Quantitative Analysis; Business Analytics; Operations Management; Entrepreneurship; Sports Business, Business Law, and other business related topics.
Candidates should be strongly committed to quality undergraduate and graduate instruction, service to students, and adding value to the college. Minimum academic requirements:
Undergraduate Level: Masters degree in relevant area preferred; in exceptional circumstances, bachelors with significant professional and teaching experience in relevant field may be substituted for an advanced degree.
Graduate Level: Masters degree in relevant field or advanced degree with significant professional experience in relevant field required (in exceptional circumstances, bachelors with significant professional and teaching experience in relevant field may be substituted for an advanced degree).
Doctorate and demonstrated teaching experience preferred. We seek candidates with a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. The salary is competitive. Pro tempore faculty responsibilities are limited to teaching in their area of expertise.
