ShelterCare's Garden Place Program is undergoing an exciting transition in its program focus and is looking for a Qualified Mental Health Associate to join our team. Garden Place is now a medically-enhanced residential treatment facility that supports up to 12 adults with severe and persistent mental illness in a home-like environment

Garden Place is a medically enhanced residential treatment facility that supports up to 12 adults with severe and persistent mental illness in a home-like environment. A successful candidate will be someone able to demonstrate the ability to utilize effective communication skills to create and maintain interpersonal relationships with staff and residents. Ability to work independently, dedicated to supporting each resident regarding their unique goals to meet treatment plan objectives and support their development of independence.

This position requires that applicants have the ability to work as a member of a direct care team providing milieu and clinical support serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness; to support the development of life skills and provide therapeutic interventions; facilitate therapeutic groups; medication administration; and keep accurate clinical documentation.


  • MUST meet State of Oregon QMHA credentials by one of our following criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Development;

  • OR minimum THREE (3) YEARS verifiable mental health experience working with SPMI population in a supervised social service setting;

  • OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education in addition to satisfactory supplemental mental health experience and training

  • Successful applicants MUST also have a valid Oregon driver's license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check

Full-time, non-exempt. Schedule is 7:00am-5:30pm Sunday - Wednesday (alternating Wednesdays). Wage is $14.28/hr. Benefits includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; 10 paid holidays; generous paid time off accrual; pet-friendly environment; and employee assistance program.
