Position: Equipment Operator

Location: Gresham Line Center

Rate of Pay: $38.48 /hour

Shift: 7AM-3:30PM

It is recognized that the Company is engaged in a public service requiring continuous operation, and it is agreed that recognition of such an obligation of continuous service is imposed upon both the Company and the Union.

In this role, you'll drive various equipment including crane, vac truck and digger derrick to and from the job site. You'll operate equipment and assist crew as needed while on-site. You'll also be responsible for making sure equipment is in working order and receives preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary.

DUTIES: (Essential Job Responsibilities)

  • Work safely.

  • Operate primary equipment, puller/tensioner, dozer, and other equipment as needed.

  • Workaround energized equipment.

  • Load, secure, and haul equipment on a tractor-trailer.

  • Service and assume responsibility for obtaining proper maintenance and repair of equipment.

  • Assist crews as directed by the crew foreman and perform other work as assigned.

  • Provide coverage throughout the Region.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required)

  • Twelve (12) months of line experience.

  • Be fully proficient operating primary equipment - boom truck, digger derrick, backhoe, and excavator.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL driver’s license and maintain throughout tenure in the position.

  • Must acquire CDL Tanker endorsement within 6 months of start date and maintain throughout tenure in the position.

  • Must obtain EICA Crane Certification within 6 months of start date and maintain throughout tenure in the position.

  • Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

  • Knowledge of applicable safety requirements and OSHA regulations.

During the probationary period following reassignment to any job, at least two progress reports will be completed. These reports will be discussed with the employee by his/her immediate supervisor, and copies of each will be given to him/her.
