WorkSource Oregon Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) Driver in Hermiston, Oregon

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Our drivers are caring, compassionate, reliable, and responsible individuals charged with getting clients with mobility challenges to their destinations safely and on time. 'Show up to work in a timely manner. 'Complete trips as assigned by Scheduler/Dispatcher. Use GPS and maps to determine the best routes to take. 'Drive passengers to appointments safely and on time. 'Assist ambulatory passengers from their residence, assist in and out of vehicle and escort to destination. 'Assist passengers using mobility devices from residence, assist in and out of vehicle and secure mobility devices in the vehicle correctly and escort to destination. 'Record all necessary information related to the completion of the ride. 'Report any incidents and/or accidents back to the office. 'Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections. 'Maintain vehicle interior and exterior cleanliness. 'Follow all company policies and protocols. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 'Must have previous customer service experience with a good track record of assisting customers in a thoughtful, caring, and timely manner. 'Must have a great work history with a track record of being a reliable responsible individual. 'Must be able to meet the criminal history requirements of the Brokers we contract with. 'A valid driver's license and a clean driving record. PREFERRED SKILLS 'Can stay calm in a constantly changing work environment. Must be able to deal with traffic and variable weather conditions. 'Great communication skills. 'Knowledge of the local geographic area. 'First Aid/CPR certification a plus but not required (we will train you if needed). 'Passenger Assistance Training (we will train you if needed). 'Defensive driving certification (we will train you if needed) 'Familiarity with HIPAA and client confidentiality. ADDITIONAL NOTES This position requires pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. You must be able to clear both tests. Training in Passenger Assistance techniques and other required certifications is provided by the company. The driver may be required to work weekends, early mornings, and late evenings.
