Nikon Precision Manager, Supply Chain in Hillsboro, Oregon
Job Summary: A hands-on position managing inventory planning, responsible for operational, systems and management analysis and decision making in support of inventory control, materials management, and service parts logistics activities and functions.Makes recommendations for action and assists in policy and procedure implementation. Performs related work as assigned. Works with Quality, Engineering, Field Service, and Nikon Corp HQ in Japan to develop spares procurement planning balancing between financials and customer support requirements. Manages staff responsible for spares planning to include staff with engineering background.Develop and drive continuous improvement programs centered on customer satisfaction, SLAs and process improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage staff in developing procurement plans for spares within budget guidelines.• Manage internal and external customer facing supply chain programs and deliverables. • Manage programs, systems, data bases, processes (workflow) and staff to ensure continuous improvement.• Collaboration with technical team to maximize inventory efficiencies • Other duties as required.
Job Requirements: • Experience in managing mission critical operational programs• Experience in managing and leading a small team of planners and analysists• Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results• Independent decision maker relative to day-to-day operations; requires limited assistance with scoping and planning new projects. • Require ability to analyze complex issues and carry out effective countermeasures • Communicate effectively with customers on critical logistical issues and promote NPI • Identify potential supply problems and engage relevant departments to proactively resolve them. • Develop methods and procedures to implement corporate and departmental objectives. • Ability to collaborate and interface cross functional organizations • Native level in Japanese language and professional level in English• Strong communication skills, leadership and management skills; must be self-motivated.
Skills, Experience and Education:• Out of the box thinking and creative planning to improve asset usage and impact on customers• Advanced spreadsheet software technical competence (e.g. Microsoft Excel, pivot tables, DB)• Advanced presentation software technical competence (e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint) • Analytical ability required to compile statistical reports, analyze data, and make recommendations based on analysis • Strong Database Skills • Proficient in SharePoint• Strong written and verbal communication skills • Market and customer focus: Awareness of how critically important reliable supply of parts is to customers • Open communication: Able to listen, inform and influence customers and maintain strong client relations with them • Bachelor’s degree in related field. • APICS Certification preferred
Working Conditions: • Normal office conditions • Evening, weekend and holiday work may be required. • Medium to extensive travel domestic and Japan (30 to 50%)• Position is in Hillsboro, Oregon • Some direct reports located in Belmont CA.• Native level in Japanese language and professional level in English required.
