How will you make an impact?

This Sr. Director, Human Resources will serve as an active HR partner to our Global Sales and Services team for the Materials and Structural Analysis Division. This position will be an integral member of the Materials and Structural Analysis HR Business partner team. This partnership role will lead objectives (18 months or less) to achieve business and talent objectives including advancements while ensuring employee engagement. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic HR thought leader who can combine Thermo Fisher tools and opportunities with an interest in achieving results. This Sr. Director role will 2 HRBP and through a matrixed HR Field model globally to lead initiatives and day to day business operations for 1000 employees and several global remote locations.

What will you do?

  • Understand the business priorities and objectives of the business to develop a comprehensive talent plan for the Global Sales and Services of our Electron Microscopy business.

  • Working with global business leaders to analyze the workforce capability requirements relevant to changing business needs, actively participating in planning process, provide advice on workforce deployment and development for success.

  • Collaborate on workforce plan with finance, region, division to ensure investment in talent is understood and aligned for expedient approvals.

  • Guide leaders in organization structure design and implementations, including (but not limited) to new structure, organizational development, global people impact, change management for intended business outcomes. Work globally with peers to understand the requirements and opportunities for successful change.

  • Identify critical workforce development needs, leverage existing company resources to develop different programs; collaborate with different teams and different functions.

  • Lead Human Resources planning and succession review process.

  • Guide Top Talent to work out individual development program, provide resources and opportunities to stretch and grow.

  • Work with the business team to ensure that organization targets are well cascaded, set up appropriate performance management process.

  • Leverage partners and appropriate HR expertise to ensure success for the business and provide growth opportunities for the team to learn.

  • Other projects as assigned.

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, psychology, related discipline required.

  • Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in all aspects of Human Resources with global management experience. Experience with Sales and Services Functions a plus.

  • Experience building business teams and managing and influencing in a complex leadership matrix for results.

  • Thorough working knowledge of contemporary practices including (but not limited to brand building for talent acquisition, total rewards, salary evaluation and performance management, employee engagement and employee retention, change mgmt. and organizational design for effectiveness business.

  • Strong strategic and systems thinker; process improvement orientation

  • A track record of positive results and an ability to show how his/her programs and policies have contributed to the growth and bottom-line profitability of an organization while enhancing or driving cultural change.

  • Proven project and time management skills with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to travel globally 30-40% of the time (post COVID)

  • MBA or Advance degree

  • Work experience in Capital Equipment/Instruments or Technology Solutions Businesses
