WorkSource Oregon Supportive Housing Associate - Orchard Home in Medford, Oregon

About the Program Orchard Home is a non-licensed, furnished transitional housing program located in Medford, OR intended to serve up to Jackson Care Connect Members who need extra supports for ongoing stabilization. Orchard is perfectly suited to be a step between Springbrook Crisis Respite Center and more permanent, independent housing. Clients of Orchard Home will have a maximum stay of up to 60 days, with case-by-case consideration of extensions where needed and appropriate. Staff will be on-site during the day, 7 days a week, to ensure client stability and to provide supports as needed. About the Position We have an opening for the Supportive Housing Associate position at our Orchard Home program in Medford, OR. If you have experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Assistant (RA), Residential Counselor, Skills Trainer, or Caregiving for a client experiencing severe mental illness, then this position might be a good fit for you. Work Schedule: Sunday - Monday, 8:00am-5:00pm (P/T Day) This position provides a flexible range of supportive assistance services in accordance with a plan that enables individuals suffering from severe and persistent mental illness to maintain a residence, encourages the use of existing natural supports, and fosters involvement in social and community activities. Assistance with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene; medication administration; nutritional guidance; accessing community resources; preparing a daily schedule of appointments providing coordination of transportation; maintenance of clean, sanitary and safe living conditions; assistance with completing housing applications and move-in arrangements; and coordinating with property management team regarding reasonable accommodations and possible ADA modifications, etc. In addition, you will receive crisis de-escalation training, which requires performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques. Qualifications MUST be QMHA Certified through Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) -OR- MEET eligibility qualifications to register with MHACBO State of Oregon QMHA credentials criteria: a) Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science: Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Development; b) OR minimum 6,000 hours verifiable mental health experience working with Severe Persistent Mental Illness population in a supervised social service setting; c) OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education in addition to satisfactory supplemental mental health experience and training Successful applicants MUST also have a valid Oregon driver's license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.
