Job Title: Production Trainer - Graveyard

Department: Production

Schedule: 12 hour night shift, rotating

Wage: starts at $19.81 an hour

+$2.00 per hour Graveyard shift differential

Position Overview: The Production Trainer trains new production workers at workstations and in the classroom. Production Trainers are essential in onboarding production employees and associates and training them on processes and safety measures. This role will partner with production teams to improve the overall training programs at Bob’s Red Mill.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinates and administers training for all new hires within designated assigned departments.

  • Assists with creating, maintaining and updating work instructions/SOPs for all positions and processes.

  • Partners with leadership to create and implement ramp-up plans for onboarding.

  • Assists production leads to help underperformers improve and succeed.

  • Assists in developing new training or methods of training.

  • Identifies training gaps and escalates to Production Training Manager.

  • Administers assessments of new hires training progress after 1 week, 30 days, 60 days and 90 days on assignment.

  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.

  • Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

  • Performs other tasks and duties as may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has limited responsibilities over assigned personnel and staffing agency associates.

  • This position reports to the Production Training Manager.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 6 or more years of production or manufacturing experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possesses a good understanding of Bob’s Red Mill’s operations, policies and procedures.

  • Can effectively communicate company expectations and procedures.

  • Ability to work at a fast pace within a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to follow exact procedures and protocols.

  • Knowledge of basic hand tools for machine set up and operation.

  • Demonstrated experience training or willingness to undergo formal training regarding teaching and instructing others.

  • Ability to work well individually and lead a team.

  • Proficient time management skills, especially during machine down time.

  • Must be able to read and communicate in English. Proficiency in a second language is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.

  • Must have good time management skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Good physical dexterity with the ability to climb ladders and stairs, squat, kneel, stand for long periods of time, reach overhead, walk on uneven surfaces etc.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Occasional lifting of weight up to 55 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Working weekends is required.

  • The work environment is primarily production and warehouse settings.

  • Use of personal protective equipment such as ear plugs and hairnets are mandatory and use of non-slip shoes is recommended.
