As the needs of our community have changed LRC has changed with them: - Individuals will no longer be in a bunk bed style unit. - All beds have their own privacy curtain installed that can be removed easily for cleaning. - The Recovery Center has a designated room on both the women's and men's units for infection prevention quarantine requirements. We are posting progress towards our remodel, check back here https://www.lifeways.org/lifeways-recovery-center POSITION SUMMARY: The RN coordinates medical services and facilitates mental health and substance use disorder rehabilitation interventions to achieve clients rehabilitative, resilience and recovery goals following evidence-based practices. Promotes the physical, mental, and behavioral health of residents by applying the nursing processes. As necessary, will provide training to Residential Associates for certification within the facility for medication passes. Will provide training and documentation to maintain compliance with all state and federal requirements. Supervisor duties will be to provide clinical supervision for nursing staff within other departments. This is a non-exempt position which is subject to shift work, overtime and on-call. Flexible shift schedules are available. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Coordinates care to residents utilizing the nursing processes of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation - Administers medication - Medication monitoring and education and other tasks to provide a whole person approach to helping individuals be successful in their overall wellness. - Provides training and facility-level certification of proper protocols of medication passes and documentation to Residential Associates - Provides timely and accurate documentation. - Adheres to Oregon State Board of Nursing Standards and Scope of Practice for the Licensed Practical Nurse and Registered Nurse. - Effectively interacts with residents, family members, referral sources, and other health team members. - Ensures that health care information is distributed to appropriate staff, psychiatrist, and other medical personnel as necessary. - Develops and maintains therapeutic client relationships with close adherence to client-directed services. - Participates in the admission process of new residents to assigned facility.
