Purpose of Position:
Are you passionate about Electrical Engineering and do you want to make an impact on our environment? We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our collaborative team to help support troubleshoot devices and design test devices that impact our ocean!
We release product support for a number of different devices that test the salt waters of the world, do ocean monitoring, and have light sensing devices that read the optical properties for the scientists that test the waters. You would have the opportunity to support the production lines and be a part of the designing and testing the devices.
Electronic hardware debugging and troubleshooting to the components level.
Maintain schematics and assembly drawings.
Create and maintain manufacturing and testing documentation.
Support electronics manufacturing processes such as fine pitch surface mount soldering.
Maintain testing software for automation and efficiency - LabView and Python.
Design software applications and fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Conduct tests, investigations, and build prototypes for proposed design/process changes
Maintain products compliance including RoHS and CE.
Education, Background and Qualification Requirements:
BS in Electrical Engineering degree; or equivalent work experience.
1-2 years related experience in manufacturing or engineering environment preferred.
Experience testing electrical circuit boards
Lean manufacturing knowledge, preferred.
Experience with software source control (SVN), preferred.
Experience with communication protocols including RS-232, RS-485 and USB, preferred.
Experience programming, testing and debugging embedded systems such as MSP430.
Database interaction experience including SQL, preferred.
