WorkSource Oregon 21-016 Maintenance Mechanic Level II in PORTLAND, Oregon

TRAINING SCHEDULE IS 7AM-330PM for 90 days then morning or swing shift schedule will be assigned between 6am-7pm. Tosoh Quartz, Inc. We currently have the following opportunity available: Maintenance Mechanic II GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the maintenance of plant production equipment and facility's equipment as required. Work from work orders generated by the Maintenance Supervisor. Operate a variety of equipment in Company as required for maintenance purposes. Perform miscellaneous, non-documented work orders in plant as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Dismantle machines and reassemble to operating condition machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools. Perform routine maintenance, such as placing machine or equipment in safe condition, verifying power sources, inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, and/or doing other preventive maintenance actions. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using hand tools, hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices. Perform required maintenance on equipment as listed by work orders and maintain record of work performed. Coordinate work around production schedules. Determine tools and materials needed to perform tasks and requisition parts and supplies. Read and understand equipment maintenance and service manuals. Identify necessary preventative maintenance activities and schedules. Troubleshoot "down" equipment for repair. Set up and operate machine shop equipment. Communicate with all departments to help generate increases in TOSOH quality. Follow up on completed work orders to ensure satisfaction of projects. Escort contractors. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent experience, including vocational or technical training school. Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in maintenance with 0-2 years as a Senior/Lead Maintenance Mechanic, depending on type of equipment used. Veterans with one or more of the following experience is preferred: Machinist Mate, airplane mechanics, airplane tech, avionics, electricians mate.
