The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

This position reports to (supervisor): Dr. James Katancik, Interim Chair of Pediatric Dentistry

The duties of this position include:

This position is under the supervision of the Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals and objects of OHSU and the School of Dentistry and include: Participation in the clinical and didactic education of pediatric dental residents and predoctoral students, administrative committees and councils and other professionally related public service activities on behalf of the department. The position will also supervise residents residents in the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital operating room.

The general pattern of working hours corresponds with scheduled clinic hours, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Deviations from this pattern may be necessary at times.

  • Dental degree (DDS/DMD) from a CODA accredited school

  • Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry recognized by the Commission on Dental Education of the American Dental Association (CODA)

  • Ability to obtain a nitrous oxide permit in the state of Oregon

  • Ability to obtain hospital privileges

  • Eligible for board certification from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

  • Eligible for licensure in Oregon

  • Current license endorsement in moderate sedation

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical and didactic reaching experience

  • BLS/ACLS from the American Heart Association

  • PALS from the American Heart Association

  • Membership and participation in professional societies in dental research and Pediatric Dentistry

  • Demonstrated achievement in research including awards, extra-mural funding, and publications in peer reviewed journals

  • Must be able to teach at the pre and post graduate levels
