Providence is calling a Biostatistician 2 (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.
We are seeking a Biostatistician 2 - Program Development Neuro Muscular Skeletal who will independently design, analyze, and write reports on statistical analysis of research data generated by Providence researches. Projects are typically mid-size with moderate skill level. Position will develop and oversee statistical functions including the design and analysis of pre-clinical experiments, clinical trials, outcomes research, grant preparation, authoring scientific and clinical publications, and implementing statistical methodologies. Interacts and consults with scientists to ensure proper use of statistical methodology and interpretation of results. Programs statistical software packages to improve efficiency of projects. Responsible for performing and interpreting statistical analysis on numerous clinical data sets, database management, and consultation on research.
In this position, you will:
Collaborate with clinical researchers to develop appropriate study designs and analysis plans for investigator-initiated clinical trials, including sample size determination, statistical analysis, and interpretation and reporting of results. Makes recommendations for solutions to unique problems.
Collaborate with scientists to develop statistical plan for pre-clinical experiments, clinical trials and outcomes research, including sample size determination, statistical analysis and interpretation and reporting of results.
May collaborate with laboratory scientists and clinical transitional researchers to prepare experimental design sections for federal (primary NIH) and non-federal grant submissions and reports on results.
Collaborate with researchers to author scientific and clinical publications/manuscripts.
Serve as a resource within PH&S for research biostatistics.
Provide key technical data manipulation support to research.
Collaborate with other researchers to interpret study results.
Participate in research project design and collaboration with other investigators, clinicians, management and staff within PH&S.
Serve as a consultant in the creation and maintenance of databases as requested by other researchers and programs within PH&S.
Ensure data integrity and compliance with all Providence, state and Federal data security mandates.
Assist in preparation of manuscripts, presentation and formal reports of data analyzes.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Biostatistics -OR- related field.
Four (4) years biostatistician experience.
Working knowledge with statistical analysis software
