Portland State University BSW Adjunct Pool - Academic Year 2019-2020 (External) in Portland, Oregon
Position Number: D97731
The PSU School of Social Work is committed to the enhancement of the individual and society. Further values and beliefs include a dedication to social change and to the attainment of social justice for all peoples, the eradication of poverty, the empowerment of oppressed peoples, the right of all individuals and groups to determine their own destinies, and the opportunity to live in harmony and cooperation. While the School maintains a special commitment to these values, it recognizes the need for joining with others in society who are working toward this same purpose. The School of Social Work has two undergraduate majors: BSW and Children, Youth, and Family Studies and two graduate programs: MSW and PhD.
Now in its 11th year, the PSU BSW Program is the only undergraduate social work degree offered in a public institution of higher education in Oregon. The program has distinguished itself in offering a CSWE accredited curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking, innovative pedagogy, and anti-oppressive and equity-aligned social work practice. Instructors who demonstrate an interest in and ability to realize the mission, values, and vision of the School are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those with knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to racial equity and critical, anti-oppressive, and social justice-oriented frameworks. Each academic year, there is a need to hire adjunct faculty to teach.
