Oregon Health & Science University Clinician Investigator in Portland, Oregon
The appointee will join an existing program in addiction medicine research in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics to further expand research, development of innovative clinical models, and education in medical care of seriously ill persons with addiction.
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
1) Research (75%): Conduct independent clinical and/or epidemiological research
2)Clinical (20%): Provision of inpatient and/or outpatient clinical duties in Addiction Medicine and/or Primary Care or Hospital Medicine, administered through Division of General Internal Medicine, as negotiated with the Division Head
3)Administrative, Educational and Academic (5%): There are no specific administrative responsibilities associated with this position. Educational responsibilities include presenting at and otherwise participating in conferences and may include teaching fellows, residents, and medical students.
Further responsibilities will be developed in conjunction with the Division Head.
MD/DO + completion of fellowship training in research methods and addiction medicine or equivalent experience
Candidates must possess an MD degree or equivalent and be eligible to obtain clinical privileges at OHSU and an unrestricted license to practice in Oregon
Active board certification or eligibility in Addiction Medicine or equivalent experience preferred.
Prior research fellowship training or the equivalent which will augment current division and institutional addiction research strengths.
Expertise in the general areas of population health, health services delivery, substance use disorders, and other social determinants of health would be particularly desirable, as well as demonstrated success in collaborative interdisciplinary research.
Academic appointment will be commensurate with experience, at the Assistant or Associate Professor level
