Umpqua Bank Community Responsibility Program Manager in Portland, Oregon

JOB PURPOSE

The Community Responsibility Program Manager is responsible for supporting the corporate social responsibility strategy at Umpqua Bank. Through management of critical community--facing and internal programs, this position helps to inform and influence many aspects of Umpqua's brand, culture and values while working in a collaborative team environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee Umpqua Bank's corporate giving program. Communicate with grant seekers, internal stakeholders and internal review committee.

  • Analyze grant and sponsorship requests. Track and report on budget and impact of program, and create and maintain program materials.

  • Manage Umpqua Bank's paid time off volunteer program including communication with community partners and internal associates. Track and report on progress and impact, and create and maintain program materials.

  • Run Umpqua Bank's annual associate giving campaign including communication with vendor and internal associates. Track and report on progress and impact, and create and maintain program materials.

  • Guide Umpqua Bank's internal environmental responsibility efforts including associate green team oversight, internal sustainability project tracking and communication of outcomes.

  • Support signature community responsibility programs and events such as strategic community partnerships or visibility efforts in a particular community.

  • Integrate the voice of Community Responsibility into general business discussions.

  • Work collaboratively with Corporate Communications, Creative Strategies and Cultural Enhancement teams and other business units to ensure Umpqua's brand, culture and values are integrated into internal and public-facing efforts.

  • Represent Umpqua Bank in the community in a manner consistent with Culture and Professional Standards.

  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities -- knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.

  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

  • Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • A bachelor's degree in business or a related field or equivalent experience required.

  • 3-5 years of experience in areas of grant making, program management, corporate social responsibility, or related area.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to develop important relationships and strengthen program outcomes.

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in both small and large groups.

  • Strong data management skills are required to effectively report on program outcomes that fold into corporate social responsibility reporting efforts.

  • Critical thinking skills are required to identify and find relevant solutions for challenges and opportunities.
