Career DescriptionJob Description

The Director, Independent Sales will be responsible for cultivating rewarding partnerships to drive market share, profitability and return on investment for our independent store owners. The Director, Independent Sales will direct and motivate an Account Executive team to serve as advisors, building trust and a business roadmap for store activities that deliver results for our business partners.

The leader in this position will differentiate his/herself through their ability to forecast industry trends, business at risk and disruptors. This includes demonstrating leadership with vision, collaboration and building trust with independent store owners and internal company stakeholders. He/she will partner closely with the business to influence a strategy that delivers strong business outcomes. Candidates will be located in the Pacific NorthWest with a high preference to Portland and Seattle.

The Person________________________

  • Lead and develop a team of regional Account Executives

  • Understand, advocate and support innovation, store moves, revamps and ownerships changes

  • Directly manage client lifecycle management for all business owners

  • Work closely with the sales team to partner with store owners and build long-term relationships

  • Lead analysis and advise store owners to effectively manage inventory

  • Lead and facilitate the opportunity to grow market share for business owners and the company

  • Attract top talent, networking for opportunities to build the account executive team and/or advising store owners on top market talent

  • Drive results, increasing market share, profitability and ROI by implementing support and training programs for evolving business goals

  • Excellent communication skills with a strong business/financial acumen

  • Demonstrates unparalleled leadership, collaboration and effectiveness

  • Oversee roadmap to meet/exceed territory quotas

  • Oversee the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent sales experience

  • Minimum of 8 years in business development leadership with an emphasis in account management

  • Candidates should have experience managing a high-powered nationally dispersed sales team

  • Superior influencing, negotiating and closing skills

  • Professional savvy, personal drive, self of urgency and desire for continuous improvement

  • Minimum of 8 years in business development/sales management leadership with an emphasis in account management

  • Knowledge and/or experience in the retail automotive industry preferred
