Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.

The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

The Enterprise Employment Investigations Manager will be responsible for managing an Employment investigations team and executing risk-based internal investigations programs which may vary from low to high risk and complexity. These roles will provide daily leadership, communication, technical expertise and direction to facilitate timely and high quality delivery of employment investigations objectives. Enterprise Employment Investigations Managers are responsible for daily coaching and risk management activities to ensure adherence to process and procedures. This role will analyze trends and emerging issues and work with management to develop and implement department policies & procedures to maximize efficiency, improve quality of services and ensure compliance with Company policies and government regulations.

The position may lead projects and initiatives with significant exposure to the Company following investigative protocol. The Enterprise Employment Investigations Manager manages a team of Employment Investigators or cross-functional teams in accomplishing goals and priorities. The positions will report into an Enterprise Investigations Director.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides direct leadership, coaching, and development to geographically dispersed team of Investigators with enterprise responsibility for handling allegation cases with a focus on risk management and the Wells Fargo Vision, Values and Guidelines.

  • Performs quality review of subordinates’ consultation, case documentation and adherence to established practices, procedures, and controls; provides feedback and suggests process changes as appropriate.

  • Manages and may resolve escalated employment-related cases as well as cases originating through the Ethics Line; when necessary, escalates issues of potential significant risk to senior management.

  • Evaluates strategies and supports enhancements of the Conduct Management Enterprise Investigations Model through effective consultation, use of data and trends, and interpretation of metrics to support business decisions, internal leadership training, and talent assessment.

  • Develops and implements processes in collaboration with senior management, which balance adherence to Company policies, audit, regulatory and leadership requirements with concern for team member experience and overall efficiency.

  • Manages relationships with broader Conduct Management, Risk and HR/ER community, as well as customers, vendors or other partners as necessary. Independently and effectively influences and negotiates with senior partners and stakeholders across Lines of Business to resolve conflict and manage internal fraud risks.

  • Responsible for risk mitigation, employment-law compliance and achievement of organizational effectiveness through an alignment of Wells Fargo’s Conduct Management Enterprise Investigations model and business objectives.

**Note: Multiple Hiring Managers. Position will report to any one of the Enterprise Investigations Directors across the Conduct Management Enterprise Investigations Team(s) that have an open position(s).

Conduct Management is a centralized team within Corporate Risk. Conduct Management has enterprise-wide responsibilities that include case intake (including EthicsLine), triage, conduct of investigations, documentation, research, and investigations related to potential team member misconduct. These functions are supported by reporting and analytics capability, training, ethics and ethics advisory, and relationship management support for the front line.

  • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience investigating one or a combination of the following: employee relations issues, Title VII complaints, or policy violations

  • 2+ years of leadership experience

  • 2+ years of employee relations experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience

  • Ability to identify and evaluate trends, isolate root cause, and provide swift/thorough resolution

  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management

  • Highly refined and professional verbal and written communications

  • Knowledge and understanding of human resources policies and processes

  • Strong conflict resolution skills

  • Leadership experience with ability to effectively manage and engage teams
