POSITION: Expeditor / Equipment, Vehicle & Material Coordinator
As Expeditor, this person assists in the support of our many project managers, supervisors and foremen with their material, equipment and tool needs. This is a key position that can significantly enhance company productivity and efficiency.
As Coordinator, this person is responsible for accurate monitoring, maintenance and inventories of tools, equipment and materials for Essex. Accurate inventories and tracking, as well as regular maintenance, of our materials, equipment and tools can save us save us thousands of dollars each year in material, equipment and tool replacement and repair costs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Expeditor / Tool Coordinator is responsible for shop and yard material and tool inventories, maintenance and repair, as well as material-handling, equipment delivery, minor cleanup and dump runs to and from jobsites.
The position purchases, inventories and monitors equipment, materials, and small tools in the shop and yard. The Expeditor also performs minor repairs and maintenance duties on Essex facilities (office, shop and yard.) Routine maintenance on the forklifts & scheduling vehicle maintenance is also the coordinator’s responsibility.
The Expeditor is responsible for the delivery of supplies according to priorities and specifications and assists in monitoring the inventory of supplies at job sites.
Places orders as needed, reviewing competitive pricing and with budget approval.
Assists in the movement of material between locations and job sites.
The expeditor is responsible for assisting in set-up of jobsites at start-up, making sure that the following is delivered and present at the jobsite at the beginning of work:
