ABOUT THE POSITION

Columbia Sportswear Finance & Accounting teams oversee the financial health and forward strategy for a portfolio of four global brands. These teams exercise expertise across Compliance, Credit, Financial Planning and Reporting, Tax, Treasury, and Strategy. Advancing traditional Finance & Accounting functions, the organization is also driving exciting innovation in the application of advanced analytics and automated intelligence.

As Columbia Sportswear’s International Finance Manager you will play the lead role in driving all aspects of financial planning and reporting for the International Distributor business, and providing cross-region FP&A support to the Company’s international subsidiaries. Within this role you will partner with International Distributor leadership in the development and monitoring of financial plans, ensuring clean execution of predictable, transparent financial planning processes. These include Long Range Planning, Budget, Initiative proposals, Forecast, Month End Close analysis and Seasonal Product Margin planning. You will also provide decision support to the APAC SVP – Asia Direct, and direct support to the Corporate FP&A team in standardizing and enhancing finance processes and analytics across the international businesses.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Provide direct support to the Vice President of Global Distributor Sales in development of financial plans, forecasts, operating budgets, and initiative proposals for the business, as well as decision support to the SVP of APAC. This includes monthly summary financial analysis for APAC subsidiaries, and review of financial justification for key investment projects across the international businesses (retail store proposals, IT and other infrastructure investments, marketing ROI, etc.)

  • Drive the monthly and quarter end financial processes for International Distributors, including full variance analysis vs. forecast. Provide detailed reports to both operational and finance management teams including recommendations for expense management and optimization

  • Support the Distributor business through collaboration with Merchandising, and Costing/Sourcing teams with a focus on driving sustainable gross margin expansion, including facilitation of the Gross Margin Program for the International Distributor business

  • Work directly with overseas partners in EMEA region to consolidate overall International Distributor financial results

  • Develop standardized region-relevant reporting across the Asia Direct subsidiaries

  • Support Corporate FP&A and the subsidiary finance teams in execution of standardized global processes and developing FP&A capabilities across the international regions

  • Provide regular and ad-hoc cross-region financial benchmarking and analysis to enhance business partner understanding of financial plans and results, and identify opportunities for performance improvement and cost control

  • Build and maintain In-depth knowledge of subsidiary business models, systems and data as well as corporate finance processes, systems and data

YOU ARE

  • An expert in financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning concepts

  • An adept rapport builder and communicator, capable of managing effective working relations with a diverse, global group of individuals at multiple levels of an organization

  • Strategically minded

  • Willing to proactively seek answers, and tactfully challenge responses

  • An excellent problem solver with solid business judgment

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a business-related field

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in progressively responsible roles performing financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and reporting duties in a mid to large corporation.

  • Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in a role presenting financial analysis and recommendations to a business unit leader

  • International experience preferred

  • Advanced skills using business planning, analytics and reporting systems required, e.g. Cognos TM1, SAP, PowerBI, or similar
