Introduction to the team

The Portfolio Management Associate reports to the Director of Investments and partners with other Portfolio Managers and the broader client service team to implement, monitor and maintain investment models and portfolios for the firm’s wealth management clients. This role has a focus on monitoring, trading and rebalancing the firm’s asset models, using Tamarac, the firm’s rebalancing system and will also entail support to the operations and audit function for the team.

This multi-faceted role will also include providing support to the broader Investment Research and Portfolio Management team as it relates to projects, research, investment deliverables, various prep work for advisors, etc. across multiple asset classes including equities and fixed income.

  • Implement asset allocation and portfolio construction processes from an investment strategy perspective, through implementation/application to client portfolios within Tamarac under the direction of the Director of Investments.

  • Work with the Director of Investments and Senior Portfolio Management Associates to refine and execute on investment philosophy and policy with clients based on their goals, objectives and risk tolerance.

  • Support the administration of investment portfolios, including rebalancing recommendations, providing portfolio analytics and oversight of performance reporting.

  • Provide support to the operations and audit function for trading which may include security classifications, monitoring credit alerts, working with custodians to settle trades, performing audit functions for trade tickets based on company procedure, researching trade discrepancies, reconciling errors, etc.

  • Providing support to the Investment and Portfolio Management Team in preparation for client and prospect meetings as required by advisors, special projects, research, etc.

  • Support the Investment and Portfolio Management Team in education of advisors regarding the broad range of investment topics through research and creating presentations.


  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in wealth management/family office, investment or financial planning firm, or related business required

  • Experience working with high net worth families or institutional investors with a focus on trading, operations and audit.

  • Experience working in Tamarac or comparable experience

  • Demonstrated ability and experience with investment portfolio activities, including portfolio modeling and implementing investment policy statements

  • Experience working with investors of significant wealth from within a family office, investment or consulting firm, financial planning practice, private or family-run business, or similar

  • Strong technological knowledge and experience with tools necessary to research, implement and report on investment portfolios; ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative market-relevant data

  • Strong relationship management, interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) and an ability to educate and articulate complex investment perspectives

  • Excellent strategic thinking ability and consultative skills

  • Unquestioned ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
