Oregon Health & Science University’sKnight Cancer Institute has newly created unique Postdoctoral Fellowship positionsavailable in its Cancer Early Detection Advanced Research center (CEDAR),working alongside Drs. Bree Mitchell, Sadik Esener and other Knight CancerInstitute scientists to develop and execute major scientific projectinitiatives.The CEDAR organization is looking for candidateswith strong scientific background who want to transition to careers away fromthe bench. Functions/Duties of Position
Always promotes the mission of the Knight CancerInstitute through our Professional Standards of Customer Service, Reliability,Productivity, Professionalism, Accuracy, Timeliness, and Problem-Solving. Program Development: Develop an attractive andequitable internship program for undergraduates and other volunteers to work withCEDAR researchers in coordination with appropriate CEDAR staff. Recruitment and Retention: Work with CEDARProgram Director of Administration and Program Manager of Collaborative Scienceto develop and implement training for CEDAR staff in equitable interviewing andrecruitment practices to ensure equitable and robust candidate recruitment atall levels. Scientific Program Management: Assists the Innovation andCommercialization Manager in developing and implementing programs to supportinnovation and commercialization training opportunities. Identify and develop scientific programmanagement programs that are aligned with organizational needs and prioritiesin accordance with the candidate’s interests and career goals. Other dutiesand special projects as assigned.

Musthave excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal.

Must beproficient with computers running Windows and PC applications e.g. MS Excel,Oracle, Access, Word and PowerPoint).

- Minimum of 1 year postdoc
- Ability to synthesize scientific projects and communicate science to diverseaudiences.
- Experience with cancer research

- Experience coordinating volunteers, interns, or trainees
