Oregon Health & Science University Postdoctoral Scholar in Portland, Oregon
This position is focused on studying the causes and progression of postpartum breast cancer using human and rodent breast tissues in a lab with a strong team-based approach to problem solving. This Postdoctoral Scholar will report to the Principal Investigator and work with a team of dedicated researchers in the areas of breast cancer progression, liver metastasis and prevention.
Preforming laboratory research; conducting experiments
Collecting, analyzing, and quantifying data
Assisting in planning and designing standard research operations.
Preparation of reports, manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals, submit postdoctoral fellowship grants, and support grant submissions within the lab
Salary for this position aligns with the NIH Scale.
PhD in related field of research
Pre-doctoral research in relevant field
Project management competency
Knowledge of biochemistry, molecular biology, mouse colony management, planning and executing of in vivo mouse model studies, cell culture, IACUC and IRB regulatory oversight related to ongoing projects.
The position requires self-motivation, ability to work well in teams as well as independently, and productivity commensurate with experience, as measured by continuous review of relevant literature, synthesis of literature into publishable review articles, submission of postdoctoral fellowship grant applications, and regular publication submissions.
PhD in cancer biology
Experience with flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, 3D cell culture
