TEC Equipment, Inc. Region Director, Leasing in Portland, Oregon

TEC has an opportunity for a Region Director - Leasing who will be responsible for efficiently and profitably running the leasing company in the assigned region reporting to the Regional Director. This role maintains the highest standards in operations and in driving consistent sales strategies that surpass growth objectives. This person possesses expert business acumen and is responsible for all major functions and departments in leasing for their region. The Region Director - Leasing acts as a steward of TEC's company values: Teamwork, Entrepreneurship, and Customer Focus; and ensure every member of the Service team is delivering a customer experience that ensures TEC Equipment continues to be recognized by customers as their Best Business Partner.

In this role you own the development, upkeep, and documentation of key process for lease sales, service department, rental department, fleet procurement and disposal, and all other administrative functions of the leasing locations. You will empower your managers and direct reports, aligning the staff and departments in each facility to exceed our business objectives.

You will use the latest tools from Corporate Leasing to provide in-depth analysis of the financial performance of each department and connects employee performance to financial outcomes. You'll train and develop your teams to understand this analysis and work hand in hand with the Corporate Leasing team, Regional Director, and the local teams to develop and execute actions plans to exceed their goals. When necessary, you will build additional tools and processes based on the needs of their region. You can can step in and run any department reporting to them and owns the adaptation of standard processes and procedures from corporate to their markets.

This position is the driving force in the region for building and executing a strategic vision that expands the market share of the leasing company. They use their vast training and experience to capitalize on the unique attributes in their region and seek opportunities to grow into new, profitable ventures aligned with the leasing company core offerings. They will develop plans to establish new facilities and expand facilities and staffing levels to meet the needs of the growing business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop & Execute the Strategic Growth Plan for the Region.

  • Lead and Manage a Best in Class Sales Team.

  • Guide, Coach, and Influence the Sales, Service, Rental, & Admin Staff

  • Improve Gross and Net Profit through Cost Management and Process Improvement

  • Maximize Shop Management & Throughput

  • Optimize Rental Gross Profits

  • Oversee Facilities, Equipment, and Safety

  • Enhance and Maintain Regulatory and Administrative Functions

  • Embody TEC Values

  • 10+ years of previous management experience required.

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, or related field.

  • Six Sigma Certifications preferred.

  • Proven experience leading privately held fleet maintenance programs designed to control cost and maximize uptime .

  • Proven experience leading shops in multiple locations with varying degrees of sophistication from local shop managers.

  • P&L experience.

  • Expert level knowledge of truck repair quality standards.

  • Expert level knowledge and understanding of trucking/leasing industry .

  • Expert level knowledge of basic software and applications including Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, etc., and ability to learn new computer programs quickly.

  • Makes quality decisions and deals with ambiguity effectively.

  • Strong business acumen with ability to analyze, prioritize, identify, create, and execute solutions.

  • Excellent at directing others, developing direct reports and conflict management.

  • Demonstrates good composure, patience, and compassion for direct reports and peers.

  • Exceptional customer focus, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build effective relationships with external and internal partners.

  • Ability to work independently and remain detail-oriented and composed under pressure and in a changing environment.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to frequently communicate with others. At times, required to move about inside and outside office and through parking lots and shop environment. Frequently required to operate and use computer and other office equipment. Frequently required to utilize vision to perform tasks. Frequently required to remain in stationary position. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
